The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or an associate solicitor to join a well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation in private client disputes. The successful candidate will become part of a highly regarded contentious trusts and probate team, advising on a broad range of complex and high-value matters.

The Role

You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes. This role offers exposure to high-quality work and direct client contact from an early stage.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Advising clients on disputes relating to wills, trusts, and estates
  • Handling claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
  • Managing disputes involving executors, trustees, and beneficiaries
  • Assisting with cases involving undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, and fraud
  • Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Engaging in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
  • Supporting senior team members on complex litigation matters

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor (or due to qualify imminently) in England & Wales
  • Seat experience in contentious probate, litigation, or private client disputes
  • Strong technical knowledge and a keen interest in contentious trusts and probate work
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
