The Opportunity
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Newly Qualified Solicitor or an associate solicitor to join a well-established regional law firm with a strong reputation in private client disputes. The successful candidate will become part of a highly regarded contentious trusts and probate team, advising on a broad range of complex and high-value matters.
The Role
You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers on a varied caseload of contentious probate and trust disputes. This role offers exposure to high-quality work and direct client contact from an early stage.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising clients on disputes relating to wills, trusts, and estates
- Handling claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Managing disputes involving executors, trustees, and beneficiaries
- Assisting with cases involving undue influence, lack of testamentary capacity, and fraud
- Drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
- Engaging in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation
- Supporting senior team members on complex litigation matters
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified solicitor (or due to qualify imminently) in England & Wales
- Seat experience in contentious probate, litigation, or private client disputes
- Strong technical knowledge and a keen interest in contentious trusts and probate work
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
- Ability to manage time effectively and work both independently and as part of a team
