Job Summary

George Watson’s College is seeking a highly capable Head of Finance to oversee day‑to‑day financial leadership, ensuring robust control, reporting, and governance across a large and complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Lead on financial control, statutory and management reporting.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, audit and compliance.
• Ensure accurate, transparent core finance processes and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the Chief Finance and Operations Officer and finance team.
• Support decision‑making across the school and strengthen systems and processes.

Qualifications

• Strong technical finance expertise.
• Sound judgement and meticulous approach.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with non‑finance colleagues.
• Ability to bring rigor, professionalism and pace to a demanding environment.
