Consultant Clinical Geneticist
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer an opportunity to work as a Consultant Clinical Geneticist, starting on or after September 2026 on a permanent contract.
The role involves providing specialist Paediatric Clinical Genetics services across the Wessex region. Responsibilities include:
- Triaging referrals and assessing clinical suitability
- Conducting genetics clinics and reviewing patients
- Advising acute and specialist teams on rare and complex genetic disorders
- Interpreting genomic testing results and ensuring accurate record‑keeping
- Supporting diagnosis and family management for inherited conditions
- Providing Cancer and/or Cardiac Genetic services where required, in line with departmental needs
- Contributing to teaching, training, audit, and service development within the integrated regional genomics and laboratory network
