Assistant Design Engineer
Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious design engineer to join their expanding engineering team and contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the power, infrastructure, transport, energy and building sectors.
It is ideally suited to a graduate or early-career engineer who is keen to develop their technical expertise within a dynamic consultancy environment. Working alongside experienced engineers and industry professionals, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad variety of projects while building practical design experience and developing a strong understanding of engineering best practice.
Responsibilities
- Support the production of engineering designs, calculations, technical drawings and project documentation.
- Assist senior engineers with the coordination and delivery of multidisciplinary schemes.
- Become involved in BIM and digital engineering processes, attend project meetings and support site inspections and surveys where required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and a keen interest in developing a career within consultancy.
- Familiarity with software packages such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or Civil 3D – additional training and support will be provided.
- Strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach.
- Motivation to continue learning and progressing professionally, including working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.
- Previous placement or internship experience within an engineering consultancy is beneficial, as is an appreciation for current design standards, health and safety considerations and quality-led project delivery.
