What you will be doing

As Associate Director – Student Support & Careers, you will provide strategic leadership across student wellbeing, safeguarding, engagement, careers and employability services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high‑quality, student‑centred support and careers services.
  • Act as the University’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
  • Lead strategic and operational service improvement initiatives.
  • Build effective internal and external partnerships.
  • Provide leadership across a range of professional service teams.

Qualifications / Experience

You will bring:

  • Significant senior‑level experience within student support, wellbeing, safeguarding, careers or related services in higher education or a similar complex environment.
  • Strong leadership, influencing and change management skills.
  • Understanding of the UK higher education landscape and student experience.
  • Experience of leading teams and delivering service improvement.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent experience) is essential. DSL safeguarding certification, or willingness to obtain this, is also required.
