Role Overview
HSBC’s Infrastructure Finance (HIF) team, part of the Global Corporate and Institutional Banking business, provides a full suite of services to corporates, financial sponsors, financial institutions, and governments across sectors such as Infrastructure, Power & Utilities, Renewables, Energy Transition, Transportation, Logistics, Support Services, and Digital/Telecommunication infrastructure. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team as Vice President, Strategic Finance Partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Work proactively to establish blended finance capabilities (corporate finance, fund finance and capital markets) for sustainable infrastructure projects in emerging markets mainly across Asia and the Middle East.
- Directly contribute to the development of the Sustainable Finance growth strategy covering market analysis, presentation materials, budgeting and planning.
- Conduct detailed research including data analysis, financial modelling and valuations for use in transactions or strategic client dialogue.
- Facilitate transaction execution by supporting due diligence, document preparation, negotiation and liaising with relevant internal and external counterparts.
- Work closely with stakeholders and key strategic finance partners (providers of de‑risking and impact capital) that have a particular interest in sustainability / green investment projects.
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of the blended finance ecosystem specifically related to sustainability projects such as sustainable finance investors, development banks, green climate funds, warranty platforms, and climate financing.
- Demonstrable experience across a range of financing structures (corporate finance, fund finance and capital markets) including mezzanine, asset‑backed securities (ABS), collateralised loan obligations (CLOs), bridging, etc.
- Experience working with counterparties across Asia and the Middle East.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis capability, and accustomed to working with complex financial data.
- High level of commercial awareness to produce easily digestible reports and presentations from various sources of information.
- Very good stakeholder management skills, coupled with professional confidence that engenders the view of a “Trusted Partner”.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities.
