Senior Research Data Scientist

What You’ll Be Doing
- Create new science‑based solutions that can be captured as science modules and applied across clients.
- Apply machine‑learning approaches such as regularised regression, clustering, tree‑based ensembles, graph‑based methods, NLP and neural networks to client data.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to characterize and visualize datasets.
- Expand programming skills in Python and Spark to develop efficient science code.
- Identify new opportunities within the Data Science space for future solutions.
- Implement guidance from colleagues to resolve challenges.
- Follow Quality Assurance processes, coding standards, and best practices.
- Ensure smooth project delivery, working with senior team members for direction.
- Build strong relationships within the team and with internal stakeholders to enable clear communication.

What We Expect From You
- Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Statistics, Physics, Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with machine‑learning techniques such as regularised regression, clustering, or tree‑based ensembles, and the ability to implement them through libraries.
- Proficiency in Python programming and handling large data volumes with modern processing tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, SQL).
- Experience with, or quick learning ability for, open‑source machine‑learning packages such as Pandas, scikit‑learn, and data visualization tools.
- Willingness to present work to both technical and non‑technical audiences and contribute to the wider data‑science community.
A Plus If You Also Have
- PhD in a related field.
- Experience in the retail sector.
