Salary Up to £60,000 FTE DOE

Join our brand new practice and be part of the team at Animal House Vets! We are a well-established Veterinary Group, located in and around Bristol in the South West of England, we have been providing services to our community for over 20 years. All practices are surrounded by local amenities, and everything that Bristol, a vibrant town has to offer, this includes good links to most places in the country including Bath, Wales, Birmingham, Devon and London, whilst also still being close to the countryside.

We have our own dedicated out-of-hours provision so you will not need to worry about being on call at night and be reassured that any inpatients will be well cared for. All our sites are RCVS accredited, and have an excellent range of equipment, such as:

  • Multimodal
  • Suntech’s
  • Dopplers
  • Tonopen
  • Ultrasound
  • Dental x-ray and main x-ray
  • Endoscope
  • In house lab – routine bloods, sedivue etc

Our equipment supports our varied caseload, your time will be split between surgery and consults. You can expect to see:

  • Soft tissue surgery – lumpectomies, gastrointestinal surgeries (gastrotomys, gastrectomy’s, enterectomy’s), splenectomies, cystotomy’s, TECAs and neuters
  • Medical – abdominal ultrasounds, ECHO, ultrasound guided aspirates / biopsies
  • Orthopaedic surgery – support by peripatetic orthopaedic service for inhouse TPLOs / CCWOs / fracture repairs / patella surgery and in house digit amputations and limb amputations
  • Routine consults
  • Dentals – staged dentals, supported with dental imaging for all comprehensive oral assessment under GA

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.

You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.

We offer an excellent work-life balance for our team, you’ll be well supported and your working week will include:

  • 37 hours per week, with part time options avaliable
  • Four days per week, working 8:30am-6:30pm
  • 1 in 4 saturdays

You are a confident and motivated veterinary surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:

  • A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
