We are delighted to offer an opportunity for at least one colleague to join our team. Funding is secure for one substantive post with a further post being developed.
Acute Medicine at Raigmore Hospital is a growing and evolving specialty at the heart of acute care delivery across NHS Highland. Our dynamic and forward-thinking team is committed to supporting a strong core acute medicine service while also enabling colleagues to pursue portfolio careers and contribute to care across our rural hospitals.
Our unique location offers the perfect combination of a highly rewarding role within a large and expanding acute medical unit, set in the breath‑taking Scottish Highlands. The region offers outstanding natural beauty, a rich cultural heritage, and exceptional outdoor opportunities, alongside an excellent quality of life, making it a fantastic place to live, work, and raise a family.
Within the department, we are able to offer a range of roles and will consider applicants who wish to contribute across a variety of services. The core role includes work within a modern acute medical ward, same day emergency care, general medical on‑call with a one week in six Monday to Thursday rotation to Caithness General Hospital. We pride ourselves on flexibility, innovation, and teamwork, and we welcome applicants who are motivated to help shape the future of acute medical services in Highland. Roles outwith the core job plan will always be considered for applicants with sub‑specialty qualifications, teaching or research interests including applicants interested in the Scottish Government Global Citizenship Initiative.
If you have an interest in a move to the Highlands, don’t hesitate in contacting us. We are happy to discuss flexible working in a number of different ways.
Applicants must be on the Specialist Register with a Licence to Practice and in possession of, or within 6 months of obtaining CCT in Acute Internal Medicine or General Internal Medicine or a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration via the Combine Programme (CESR)(CP) at the time of the interview.
