Pre-Construction Manager

About the role

Orion Group is supporting a successful and long established construction client to source a Pre-Construction Project Manager to add to their North East Scotland based team.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input to allow the Quantity Surveyor to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.
• Help develop the project’s main logic of works programme, ensuring that no work commences on site until health and safety policy and the relevant construction phase plan is in place.
• Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan and observe the requirement of the CDM Regulations in the status of Principal Contractor.
• Provide leadership and support to all employees.
• Manage labour and maintain high productivity.
• Expedite materials and information release from the design team.
• Comply with the requirements of the company’s Quality Procedure and Manual.
• Manage all sub‑contractors and supply chain effectively.
• Supervise the quality of the works and hand over a snag‑free building.

Qualifications

• Qualified to Degree level in Construction or Civil Engineering or have a trade background within construction.
• Demonstrable leadership and management experience within the construction industry or housebuilding sector.
• Ability to supervise projects from inception to completion, while exemplifying a commitment to Health & Safety and ensuring quality and best practice.
