Overview
Taking Teaching Further (TTF) is a funded support program that provides training and qualifications to transition into a career as a Further Education teacher. The programme offers Government Targeted Retention Incentive payments of up to £6,000 for eligible teaching roles and subject areas. The programme also provides funded teaching qualifications, training and assessor qualification opportunities.
Who We’re Looking For
- Relevant Plumbing or Construction industry experience (minimum two years).
- A Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade area.
- A passion for sharing your expertise and supporting learners.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to delivering high standards.
- Teaching experience is welcomed but not essential; industry knowledge is the priority.

Position Details
Salary: £31,375 to £40,912 per annum. Employment type: Permanent.
Locations: Sunderland College or Northumberland College. Role: Lecturer & Programme Lead in Plumbing.

What You’ll Do
You will help shape and deliver high‑quality Plumbing provision from Level 3 through to HTQ Level 4, supporting learners to build practical and professional skills for successful careers.
