Job Description:

Our garden centre company continues to expand and increase turnover, as a result we are now seeking a motivated buying administrator. This is a key versatile role within a very talented office team who are running the most successful retail garden centre business in the southwest. Full on site training will be provided by our experienced managers offering strong personal development.

The role includes the following duties:

  • Processing and checking delivery notes / invoices/ etc in preparation of payments
  • Liaising with suppliers and transport companies on a range of issues including organising transport, placing orders and requesting credits
  • Collecting data and distributing reports
  • Importing of products from international suppliers
  • Day-to-day management of our back-office EPOS system
  • Creating and updating excel spreadsheets
  • Carrying out day to day tasks within the buying team
  • Assisting on a range of issues and supporting all departments within our head office.

This is a senior role in a successful company and would best suit someone with previous experience in a buying role. You will need excellent problem solving abilities and time management skills, as well as the commitment to pick up on urgent issues outside of standard working hours when needed. The ideal candidate will be confident communicating with suppliers internationally, and capable of managing others when required.

  • Highly organised
  • Very Good I.T. skills / computer experience with good knowledge of excel spread sheets and word documents
  • Good levels of English – both spoken and written
  • Ability to work within a team

  • Great communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Flexibility to support the business as needed across a range of tasks

Responsible For

Details of this role:

  • The role would require applicants to work Monday to Friday with occasional shop floor support needed on key trading weekends throughout the year – flexibility to help is an advantage.
  • We can offer £15 to £17 per hour with flexibility to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week – exact working hours to be agreed.
  • Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked – approx. 28 days.
  • The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team.
