Area Support Manager – Southeast (Essex & Suffolk)

Home-based role with extensive regional travel. Full-time (40 hours per week). Competitive salary. Closing date: 12th May (subject to change).

IVC Evidensia is the UK and Europe’s leading veterinary care group, made up of over 900 practices and referral hospitals, united by a shared purpose of happier animals, happier owners.

At IVC Evidensia, we believe careers should be built without limits. Our people are supported to make more impact, access more career opportunities, and play an active role in their local and professional communities. Through investment in learning, innovation, and wellbeing, we create environments where our teams can grow in confidence, capability, and fulfilment—at every stage of their career.

As part of Central Functions, you will be part of the teams that support and enable our network of over 2,500 practices across 20 countries, driving operational excellence, innovation, and strategic impact across the business.

The Role

We are seeking an Area Support Manager (ASM) to work closely with an Area Director and provide hands‑on operational support across a defined group of practices in the Essex and Suffolk area.

This is a highly collaborative role, acting as the key operational link between practices and central support teams. You’ll help ensure clarity, compliance and the effective execution of agreed priorities, processes and frameworks—allowing practices to focus on delivering exceptional care.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Develop close working relationships with practice leaders and be the ‘go to’ person for troubleshooting within the area.
  • Maintain regular contact and build relationships with practices to ensure teams feel supported and part of the wider IVC Evidensia network.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions into the area, including onboarding staff.
  • Work with Area Director to identify better ways of working that improve team wellbeing and create efficiencies that bolster the client experience.
  • Organise area meetings, prepare and distribute agendas, meeting materials & minutes and ensure action points have been followed and completed.
  • Support practices utilisation of dashboards and reporting suites based on financial and non‑financial performance, identify trends, areas of underperformance and opportunities for growth.
  • Provide support to underperforming sites, help Area Director identify needs and initiate business plan changes.
  • Ensure all practices are following the leadership and performance frameworks that are put forward.
  • General administration support for the area including financial admin, HR / Recruitment support, performance management and H&S audits.

You Might Be a Great Fit If

  • Have at least 2 years managerial or coaching and mentoring experience, with proven mentoring skills alongside capability to motivate, support and inspire leaders and senior colleagues to embrace change.
  • Ability to understand key financial KPIs and reporting.
  • Strong people skills including bringing together diverse teams across multiple sites, an influencer who can collaborate with others whilst not afraid to challenge the status‑quo.
  • A broad healthcare knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.

Additional Requirements

  • Full and valid UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Essex, Suffolk and the wider Southeast.

How We’ll Support You

At IVC Evidensia, we’re committed to supporting you in a senior executive leadership role.

  • Overall leadership of a region with the autonomy to shape strategy, culture, and performance.
  • Senior-level influence across operations, client experience, and business outcomes.
  • Opportunities to lead large-scale change and drive long-term organisational impact.
  • Ongoing learning and development to support executive and leadership growth.
  • A collaborative, values‑led culture focused on care, community, and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • 6.8 weeks annual leave including BH.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay across maternity, paternity, adoption and surrogacy.
  • Learning and development opportunities via the IVC Evidensia Academy.
  • Retail discounts and cashback offers.
  • Reduced-cost veterinary care for your own pets.
  • Car allowance of £375 per month or a company car.

If you’re an inspiring leader who’s passionate about people, performance and purpose, we’d love to hear from you.
