Overview
We are looking for a Procurement Manager to join our Tesco Underwriting team in Edinburgh. The position is permanent, with hybrid office attendance including 1-2 days per week at one of our locations. Salary is £55,000 – £70,000 (DOE) plus annual bonus and benefits. Responsibilities
- Align procurement activities with Tesco Underwriting strategic objectives.
- Identify contract requirements and write specifications for existing and new contracts.
- Lead delivery of a major part of the contract management programme, taking personal responsibility for a limited number of mission‑critical contracts.
- Build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside Tesco Underwriting.
- Keep track of risk parameters, identify deviations and report them to senior colleagues.
- Engage stakeholders by identifying needs, concerns and ensuring timely communication of business decisions.
- Support the TU Procurement Team with procurement activities, contract administration, tracking and reporting to maintain governance and efficiency.
- Deliver high savings targets through robust sourcing events while ensuring suppliers meet operational requirements and provide best value.
- Track and report on savings targets for specified sub‑categories using the agreed process.
- Build and develop supplier relationships to ensure continued suitability and greater value across Tesco Underwriting.
- Support compliance with legal, ethical and social procurement policies with integrity and good judgement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading RFP processes for Tier‑1 suppliers.
- Experience in professional services and claims supply chain categories.
- Robust procurement experience for underwriting and claims services.
- Experience in motor, home or personal lines is advantageous.
- CIPS qualification or currently working towards it.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Experience working inside a large corporate entity with global reach.
