We are seeking a Senior Buyer for our alcohol division. A professional responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the purchase of alcoholic beverages (wine, beer, spirits, etc.) from producers and distributors for resale to retailers, hospitality businesses, or other wholesalers.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Sourcing
- Identify and select wines, beers, spirits, and other alcoholic products.
- Build relationships with distilleries, breweries, wineries, and distributors.
- Supplier Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, exclusivity deals, and delivery schedules.
- Secure best margins and supply stability.
- Range Management
- Decide which products to stock.
- Manage product lifecycle (new launches, delisting slow sellers).
- Market Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, consumer demand, and competitor pricing.
- Identify emerging categories (e.g., craft spirits, premium tequila).
- Inventory & Forecasting
- Forecast demand to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams.
- Compliance
- Ensure all purchases comply with alcohol regulations, duty requirements, and licensing laws.
- Supplier Relationship Management
- Maintain long‑term partnerships with brands and producers.
- Attend trade shows and tasting events.
