Mobile Fire & Security Engineer

The Opportunity

An established and highly respected fire & security systems integrator is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join its growing engineering team across the South of England.

This is a mobile role working across a varied portfolio of commercial, heritage, public sector, and high-specification environments, delivering the installation, servicing, maintenance, fault finding, and commissioning of integrated life safety and electronic security systems.

The business specialises in high-quality, bespoke fire and security solutions including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, disabled refuge systems, and integrated life safety systems across a broad range of sectors.

This role would suit an engineer who enjoys technical variety, working within professional environments, and delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, fault-find, and commission a range of fire & security systems
  • Work on commercial, listed, heritage, educational, and public-sector sites
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance and reactive call-out
  • Install and upgrade:
    • Fire Alarm Systems
    • CCTV Systems
    • Access Control Systems
    • Intruder Alarm Systems
    • Disabled Refuge / EVC Systems
  • Complete all works in line with current British Standards and industry regulations
  • Produce clear service documentation and reports
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and to a high technical standard
  • Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota where required

Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience as a Fire & Security Engineer within commercial environments
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems and associated standards
  • Experience with at least some of the following:
    • Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
    • CCTV
    • Access Control
    • Intruder Alarms
    • Integrated Security Systems
    • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
    • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
    • Good communication and customer-facing ability
    • Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable

  • FIA qualifications
  • Knowledge of BS5839 standards
  • Experience working within heritage or sensitive buildings
  • IPAF / ECS / CSCS cards
  • Manufacturer training across leading fire & security systems
