Responsibilities
- Undertaking INSA and ITA of customer safety case documents to provide balanced and proportionate advice, to time, cost and quality.
- Engaging with customer safety case specialists to inform INSA/ITA.
- Presenting the S&RM team’s view at internal and customer meetings.
- Helping to produce and/or advising customers on the adequacy of their safety management arrangements.
- Production and delivery of safety case training courses.
- Interfacing specialists from other technical disciplines to understand the appropriateness of the safety case.
- Working in accordance with business requirements for health, safety, environment, security and quality as well as seeking continuous improvements in all aspects of work.
Qualifications
- Degree (Level 6, minimum requirement) in Science or Engineering or equivalent.
- Membership (or working towards) a professional institution is desirable.
- Clear and concise technical writing skills.
- Effective communication skills, ability to discuss safety case topics with subject matter experts from a range of other technical disciplines and provide professional independent challenge or advice.
- Knowledge and experience of the application of some of the following techniques:
- HAZID techniques
- DBA
- PSA
- SAA
- Internal and External Hazards characterisation
- Human Factors / Human Reliability
