Nottingham, NG7 Trust Attendance Officer, Multi Site School Support £34,434.00 – £36,363.00 Pro Rata

Long Term Futures is seeking a highly organised, resilient and proactive Trust Attendance Officer to support schools across a growing Multi-Academy Trust. Working closely with the Trust Attendance Lead, you will play a key role in improving pupil attendance, reducing persistent absence and supporting vulnerable students and families across multiple school settings.

This role is ideal for someone with previous attendance, pastoral, family support or safeguarding experience who is confident working directly with pupils, families and external agencies to drive meaningful change.

About the Role

You will be deployed across Trust schools based on need, providing targeted attendance support and intervention. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing caseloads for pupils with persistent and severe absence
  • Conducting home visits and attendance interventions with families
  • Supporting schools with registers, attendance coding and absence follow-up
  • Producing attendance reports, letters and case notes in line with GDPR
  • Creating and reviewing Attendance Improvement Plans (AIPs)
  • Attending attendance panels and multi-agency meetings
  • Supporting safeguarding and escalating concerns appropriately
  • Working closely with DSLs, SENCOs, pastoral staff and external services
  • Promoting high expectations around attendance and punctuality across schools
  • Using attendance data and systems to monitor impact and track progress

This is a highly rewarding but fast-paced role requiring someone who can combine strong organisation, empathy and challenge when working with families and pupils.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience as an Attendance Officer, Family Support Worker or Pastoral Officer
  • Strong understanding of the links between attendance, safeguarding and pupil outcomes
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, SEND or barriers to learning
  • Confident conducting home visits and difficult conversations professionally
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organised, emotionally intelligent and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience using school MIS systems and attendance data tools
  • Full driving licence – desirable
