Weare lookingto recruitan experienced, motivatedprofessional to join ourResearch and Development Teamas aBand5, Research Practitioner.We have a growing portfolio of studiesacrossour Trust servicesinMental health,Physical health, Sexual health, Learning Disabilities and Neurodevelopmental conditions. Weworkintricately with these clinical services todeliver on our study portfolio.

This post is based at University of Reading, Whiteknights Campus, but you willbe requiredto travel as required by the job role and as such a time efficient mode of transportation is essential. Currently the Trust is supportinghybrid working where appropriate.

WorkPattern:Monday-Friday,9-5 but some flexibility may berequired.

Main duties of the job

The role requires excellent organisational, management and communication skillsandan awarenessofresearch study processes. Main duties include supportingthe research delivery staffand clinical staffwith delivering on our research portfolio,including participant identificationand recruitment, maintenance ofstudy documentation,in accordance withregulatory frameworks, stipulatedtimeframes.

Working bothautonomously and collaboratively on aportfolio of research projects onaday-to-daybasis. Havingthe abilityto prioritise and use own initiative todrive clinical research delivery performance for Berkshire Healthcare,tohelpensurekey performance indicators are met.

Venepuncture skills would beadvantageous,but training will also be provided.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Training

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. RMN or equivalent) or degree in relevant subject

Previous Experience

  • Previous experience working in a health or social care setting
  • Awareness of GDPR and data protection issues related to NHS research
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Awareness of GCP/Informed consent/other obligatory regulations related to healthcare research
  • Experience of research in a healthcare setting
  • Experience of public speaking
  • Experience of report writing

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to network within a wide and diverse community both clinical and research-orientated
