Job Description

JR PAT Testing offers self‑employed positions with flexible hours, allowing you to work part‑time or full‑time. You will perform portable appliance testing across a range of settings – from hospitals to retail outlets – to ensure electrical equipment is safe for continued use.

Responsibilities

• Pack and transport testing equipment, record books, and necessary tools.
• Conduct PAT tests on appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers, and more.
• Interpret test results and advise users on safety and repair/replacement needs.
• Record findings in a dedicated PAT test report book or an electronic system.
• Prepare completion certificates, checklists, and other required paperwork.
• Travel to sites individually or as part of a team, maintaining organization and adherence to safety standards.
• Maintain equipment and tools in good working order, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Demonstrate reliability, honesty, and a can‑do attitude.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
• Own reliable transport to reach various sites.
• Own equipment that is calibrated at least once a year and meets regulatory standards.
• Relevant insurance in place.
• Reliability, honesty, and a proactive personal attitude.
