As a Civil Project Engineer you’ll lead the delivery of civil engineering solutions across both Non-Infra and Infra Southern Water projects. You’ll guide work from concept through to completion, collaborating with design, site, and client teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality outcomes.

What you’ll be doing.

  • Lead civil engineering activities from early design through to site delivery and project close‑out.
  • Manage design processes, engage in design reviews, and work closely with internal teams and clients.
  • Conduct early site assessments and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation including RAMS, programmes, and quality plans.
  • Oversee material procurement and manage supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Monitor budgets, support cost reviews, and contribute to variation assessments.
  • Ensure quality and compliance through inspections, testing, and site engagement.
  • Carry out setting‑out QA checks when required.
  • Promote innovation, safety, and continuous improvement across all project stages.

About You.

  • Civil Engineering qualification (ONC/HNC/BEng/NVQ or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Organised, proactive, and collaborative in your approach.
  • Able to work flexibly and maintain a positive, solutions‑focused mindset.
  • Commercially aware with good understanding of contractual frameworks (NEC).
  • Confident using Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience in the water sector or Non‑Infrastructure projects (desirable).
  • Knowledge of setting‑out (advantageous).

Desirable Qualifications and Certifications.

  • CSCS/ECS Card
  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
  • SMSTS
  • First Aid at Work
  • City & Guilds Authorised Person Module
