Senior Mechatronics Engineer – West London

On-site role. Salary range: £55,000–£65,000.

We are partnering with a growing business that is developing next‑generation data storage technology designed to transform modern data infrastructure. Following recent growth, the company is scaling its engineering teams as it transitions from prototype to product. The company is building highly durable, energy‑efficient storage hardware using pioneering technology.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to join a highly multidisciplinary R&D environment working across mechanics, electronics, embedded software, sensing, and real‑time control systems. You will play a key role in developing motor control architectures, integrating sensors and actuators, tuning control systems, and debugging complex electromechanical behaviour. The role is highly hands‑on and suits someone who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems in a fast‑paced development environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop precision motor control systems for complex electromechanical hardware.
  • Support actuator, encoder, and sensor integration.
  • Tune and validate PID, FOC, and closed‑loop control systems.
  • Work across embedded software, motor drivers, and real‑time hardware interfaces.
  • Develop test rigs and carry out system testing and validation.
  • Debug issues across mechanical, electrical, sensing, and embedded systems.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Experience Required

  • Degree‑qualified in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Robotics, or similar.
  • 3–5 years’ experience developing motor control or precision motion systems.
  • Hands‑on experience building and testing electromechanical systems.
  • Experience with embedded C/C++ and real‑time control systems.
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware and embedded software.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Bonus Skills

  • FPGA‑based motor control systems, PWM generation, EVT/DVT.
