Job overview

A scientist position is available within the Centre for Cell, Gene & Tissue Therapeutics Vector Manufacturing Labs. The post holder will be responsible for supporting a new, GMP‑compliant lentiviral manufacturing facility and assisting the development and implementation of novel intermediate scale viral vector manufacturing techniques.

Main duties of the job

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement cutting‑edge lentiviral production techniques using state‑of‑the‑art production equipment.
  • Play a key role in building and qualifying a GMP process from the ground up.
  • Participate in GMP manufacture of viral vector.
  • Conduct and develop analytical assays for viral vectors, including flow cytometry, sterility testing, and qPCR.
  • Analyse and interpret complex batch data, contributing to process optimisation.
  • Maintain lab equipment and contribute to a compliant and efficient lab environment.

Experience

  • GMP experience
  • Experience in GMP product manufacture
  • Bioprocess experience

Education

  • BSc or higher in relevant field

Skills and aptitudes

  • Ability to derive and interpret complex analytical results
  • Excellent practical problem‑solving skills
