Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor and Programme Leader in Forensic Science
The role
As part of our ongoing development and expansion within the School, we are seeking to appoint a permanent Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor and also programme leader in Forensic Science. The successful applicant will be expected to lead on the development of a new undergraduate programmes within forensic science and ideally will be an experienced programme leader. Experience of developing industrial training opportunities would be advantageous. Applicants will also be expected to contribute high quality teaching within the School. You will be responsible for lectures, tutorials, laboratory classes and project supervision, as well as academic duties including student assessment, marking and pastoral support. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to shape future forensic science provision by helping shape the new crime scene and in the recruitment of additional staff.
About you
Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in a forensic science related topic, or alternatively have a BSc and the equivalent on-the-job experience.
This role also offers ample scope to develop your research career at Surrey and with a proven track record, you will be expected to establish your own independent research programme utilising our excellent research facilities for forensic science and analytical chemistry-based research.
