Job Description
Are you passionate about finance and looking for an opportunity to grow in a supportive and dynamic environment? We are seeking a part-time Finance Assistant to join our hotel team and play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the timely and accurate production of all financial information in line with company standards.
- Conduct and monitor management accounting and control systems at the unit level, adhering to company policies.
- Produce weekly, monthly, and quarterly returns and forecasts to support effective hotel management.
- Monitor costs and assist in preparing accurate weekly revenue forecasts.
- Champion the new accounting system, advising on best practices and resolving system-related queries.
- Control hotel expenditure through the purchase ordering system (iPos) and review food and beverage margins.
- Maintain company standards for weekly and monthly rolling forecasts.
- Complete duties related to sales ledger, purchase ledger, business control, and payroll within required schedules.
- Continuously seek improvements in day-to-day accounting routines to enhance team efficiency.
- Uphold agreed bookkeeping standards and liaise with the Group Finance Team on reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
Communication and Team Collaboration:
- Communicate professionally with guests and colleagues using clear and appropriate language.
- Support co-workers, fostering a respectful and collaborative environment.
- Promote the company’s core values and culture throughout the department.
- Participate in operational meetings and share relevant updates with the team.
- Provide guidance to co-workers, ensuring tasks are well understood.
- Actively listen and exchange information with team members to maintain effective communication.
About You
- Experience in a finance or accounting role (hospitality experience is a bonus but not essential).
- Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in financial systems and software (familiarity with iPos is advantageous).
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
- Fexibility to work evenings and weekends on matchdays.
