Job summary

Join our supportive team and make a difference in the lives of vulnerable women. Our service provides 24/7 support for 22 women, helping them overcome challenges, access services, and find homes.Homeless women often face unique struggles, including exploitation, stigma, family separation, health barriers, and addiction. We’re recruiting women to help create a safe, welcoming space and support women on their journey.We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, offering training and experience to provide trauma-informed care and support in our mission to end homelessness.

Salary: £23, 355 – £24,832 per annum (£12.83 – £13.64 per hour)Location: Saintfield Road, BelfastHours of Work: Rotational shift pattern (average 35 hours per week) including the requirement to work evenings, weekends and waking nights. Typically, the shift pattern is based on three 12.5 hour shifts (including breaks) per week.

Role OverviewAs a Support Worker, you’ll be part of a dedicated team providing 24-hour support to individuals accessing our services. This includes working within hostels, family units, and remote support settings to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

What You’ll NeedEssential Criteria

  • A clear commitment to our core values: Non-Judgmental, Supportive, Trustworthy, and Dedicated
  • Basic IT skills (email, internet, data entry)
  • Registered with NISCC (or willingness to register upon appointment)
  • Willingness to undergo an Access NI check

Please note this is a women-only service, and the post is therefore restricted to female applicants under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1 – Occupational Requirement.

Desirable Criteria

  • Minimum of six months’ experience (paid or voluntary in the last 3 years) working with individuals facing multiple and complex needs, including:
  1. Homelessness Prevention
  2. Substance Misuse
  3. Offending Behavior
  4. Mental Health Challenge
  5. Support for Young People
  6. Experience identifying support needs, assessing risks, and developing tailored support plans
  • A degree in Social Work or current enrollment in a Social Work degree program
