The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for executing our business development strategy, driving revenue growth, and expanding our global presence. In this role, the BDM works closely with the Business Development Director and reports functionally to him. The BDM will identify new business opportunities, cultivate strategic partnerships, and ensure alignment with company objectives. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster sustainable growth and enhance client relationships, playing an important role in the company’s long-term success. Partner with clients, develop and tailor relationships focused on revenue growth, satisfaction, and long-term commitment. Together with the Business Development Director, monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decisions. Arrange and attend bi-annual review meetings with clients and relevant colleagues. Ensure compliance with all health and safety, corporate, client, and legislative standards across the function.
You will be required to develop and maintain positive and progressive working relationships both internally and externally, in order to facilitate growth and integration across the business.
This role offers a competitive salary, dependent on experience. You may be required to work evenings and weekends during busy periods in order to meet the demands of the business, including overseas travel as required.
Annual leave Our holiday entitlement is 25 days per annum (plus bank holidays and statutory public holidays). BSC/BA Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related fields. Relevant certification in Sales or Marketing (e.g., Certified Sales Professional (CSP), Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)).
Experience in a Sales role in business development or sales in a B2B setting. Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to presenting and closing. Experience in the events industry &/or tech-enabled businesses. Strong understanding of market dynamics, sales strategies, and business development principles.
Ability to travel at least 20% of the time
High level of analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Planning and organising. Monitoring and evaluating. Understanding of company policies and ability to implement them. Flexible and with a passion for continuous improvement.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
