VAT Director
We are a leading professional services organisation with a well-established indirect tax practice advising a broad portfolio of clients across multiple sectors, including multinational groups, retail, financial services, and the public sector. Our team supports clients on a wide range of indirect tax matters, including VAT, customs, and other transactional taxes.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced VAT professional to join our Indirect Tax team at Director level. This is an opportunity for a commercially focused individual to play a key role in developing client relationships, driving business growth, and leading complex advisory engagements within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders and target organisations
- Lead business development initiatives, identify opportunities, and convert leads into commercial engagements
- Manage and deliver complex VAT advisory projects for both domestic and international clients
- Collaborate with colleagues across tax, legal, and advisory teams to provide integrated client solutions
- Provide strategic and technically robust indirect tax advice tailored to client needs
- Mentor, develop, and inspire junior team members while fostering a collaborative team culture
- Contribute to the continued growth and market presence of the indirect tax practice
- Manage multiple client engagements and ensure high standards of delivery and client service
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in indirect tax, with a strong focus on VAT
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management within a professional services or in-house environment
- Ability to identify opportunities and convert them into revenue-generating projects
- Strong technical expertise combined with commercial awareness
- Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships across multiple functions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage senior audiences
- Strong project management and leadership capabilities
- Collaborative, inclusive, and proactive approach to working with colleagues and clients
- Suitable for an experienced Senior Manager ready to step into a Director role, or an existing Director seeking a new opportunity
