Role Description
I’m working with a highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Braintree that is looking to strengthen its Audit & Accounts team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to continue developing their career within a supportive and collaborative firm, gaining exposure to a varied portfolio of clients across both audit and accounts assignments. You’ll work closely with Managers and Partners while also supporting and mentoring junior staff members.

What you’ll do
- Prepare accounts and audit assignments for a varied portfolio of clients.
- Assist with detailed audit testing across higher risk audit areas including stock, work in progress and taxation.
- Prepare management accounts and provide analytical reviews of financial data.
- Support clients with accounting software and maintaining effective accounting records.
- Prepare corporation tax computations and liaise with the tax department when required.
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide feedback and support.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding accounting and audit queries.
- Ensure assignments are completed accurately and in line with deadlines and compliance requirements.
What you’ll need
- ACA or ACCA part-qualified or studying towards qualification
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment
- Exposure to both audit and accounts preparation work
