The Role
The successful Practice Team Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to fee earners, PAs and wider business support teams, ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and to a consistently high standard.
The Practice Team Assistant will assist with document preparation, printing, scanning, filing and general administrative tasks, including support with bundles, engagement documentation and matter management processes. The Practice Team Assistant will also support billing administration, expense management, diary coordination, travel arrangements and meeting logistics.
This Practice Team Assistant position will involve maintaining electronic and hard copy filing systems, assisting with new business intake processes, updating client records and supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational tasks. The Practice Team Assistant will be expected to manage competing priorities effectively while maintaining excellent attention to detail and client service standards.
The Practice Team Assistant will work closely with colleagues across the firm and will play an important role in ensuring smooth team operations and effective communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality administrative and team support to lawyers and PAs
- Assisting with printing, scanning, photocopying and document preparation
- Supporting the preparation of bundles, working papers and legal documentation
- Managing filing, archiving and document retrieval processes
- Assisting with billing administration, pre-bills and eBilling support
- Supporting expense claims, cheque requests and banking administration
- Coordinating travel bookings, meetings and event logistics
- Updating client information and internal databases
- Assisting with new business intake and compliance administration
- Providing general office and team support as required
Skills & Experience
The ideal Practice Team Assistant will possess strong organisational skills, excellent communication abilities and a proactive approach to work.
Candidates for this Practice Team Assistant role should demonstrate:
- Previous administrative experience within a professional services environment preferred
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional and collaborative approach to teamwork
- Strong time management and organisational skills
