We are currently supporting a growing construction business in their search for a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join their team covering London and the Home Counties.
Working closely with the Commercial Manager, you’ll support a range of projects and client accounts across commercial management, contract administration, pricing strategy, financial analysis, and customer relationship management.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to broaden their commercial exposure beyond traditional QS duties while developing within a fast-paced and growing environment. Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Contract Support
- Assist in preparing commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
- Support the preparation, review, and administration of customer contracts and commercial agreements.
- Maintain accurate records of commercial documentation, pricing structures, and contract variations.
- Monitor contractual obligations and support the management of commercial risk across projects and accounts.
Financial & Commercial Analysis
- Monitor contract performance, profitability, and key commercial KPIs.
- Support financial modelling, forecasting, cost analysis, and pricing calculations.
- Analyse sales and revenue data to identify trends, commercial risks, and growth opportunities.
- Assist with commercial reporting and performance tracking across projects and customer accounts.
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Legal teams to ensure alignment on commercial terms and project requirements.
- Support ongoing commercial discussions with customers and assist in resolving commercial queries where required.
Risk & Compliance
- Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, commercial governance processes, and contractual requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial documentation and reporting.
- Escalate potential commercial issues or contractual concerns at an early stage.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
- Minimum of 7 years’ continuous experience within the Construction Industry.
- Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial role.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical ability.
- Ability to interpret contractual and commercial information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience supporting tenders, pricing, and commercial reporting.
- Understanding of contract law and commercial principles.
- Experience working with CRM or ERP systems.
- Exposure to customer-facing commercial discussions and account management.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Business, Finance, or a related discipline preferred but not essential.
