An Assistant Spa Manager at The Gainsborough Bath Spa supports daily spa operations, leads and motivates the team, and ensures an exceptional five-star guest experience within a luxury thermal spa environment.

The Gainsborough Bath Spa is a luxurious 100-bedroom hotel originally built in the 1800s, occupying two Grade II Listed buildings with distinguished Georgian and Victorian façades. Located in the heart of the World Heritage Site of Bath, the hotel offers a unique blend of historic charm and modern luxury.

The role

We are recruiting for a high‑potential Spa Supervisor or current Assistant Manager with proven operational responsibility in a hotel spa setting, demonstrating readiness to step into a management role.

You will need to bring strong frontline leadership, commercial awareness, and a track record of supporting revenue‑driving activities and service excellence.

You will be:

  • Already performing Assistant Manager‑level duties without the title
  • Trusted to run shifts, oversee teams, and manage operations in absence of senior management
  • Experienced in Hotel Spas (High Value)

You will have exposure to:

  • Treatment revenue optimisation
  • Upselling and package promotion
  • Supervisory experience managing therapists and reception teams
  • Staff performance issues
  • Shift coordination
  • Maintaining morale in busy periods

The next step is formal management responsibility, trusted with:

  • Opening/closing procedures
  • Guest issue resolution
