Role Overview
As a Peripatetic Head of Maintenance at a Barchester care home, you’ll travel across your region to ensure a clean and well‑maintained environment so residents feel at home and staff can do their jobs well. Creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere is part of our commitment to delivering first‑class care and support.
You can expect plenty of variety as Head of Maintenance with us. You’ll turn your hand to tasks throughout the care home building as well as the gardens and grounds. That could mean fixing a leaky tap one minute and planting new bulbs the next. You should be comfortable working alone, leading a team and supporting the General Manager with annual budget planning. We’ll also need you to liaise with contractors on jobs that fall outside the expertise of your team.
Qualifications and Requirements
The wellbeing of our residents will be your number one priority. You should have at least one trade skill, hands‑on experience of property maintenance, and a proven ability to undertake a wide range of maintenance tasks. You should be reliable, flexible with working hours, have a full UK driving licence, IT literacy and GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
