Group Financial Controller

A Group Financial Controller role leading management and financial reporting in a PE‑backed services business, managing a team of circa 8. Hands‑on position with responsibility for audit, regulatory reporting, and financial control in a fast‑growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the group finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
• Oversee month‑end close, consolidations, and performance analysis across entities
• Manage audit processes and act as the key contact for external auditors
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements
• Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and systems
• Partner with senior stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision‑making
• Review sensitive accounting areas (e.g. payroll, bonuses, cash management)
• Support finance transformation and change projects across the business

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ideally ACA) with strong technical grounding across both management and statutory reporting
• Proven leader with experience managing and developing teams in a fast‑paced environment
• Confident operating in a hands‑on, detail‑focused role with ownership of key financial processes
• Comfortable in a PE‑backed or high‑growth business with evolving priorities and tight deadlines
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner senior leadership
• Experience in regulated environments (FCA or similar) would be advantageous
• Proactive, resilient, and able to bring structure to a sometimes complex or changing business
