At Addition, we’re working with a specialist technology business delivering secure digital solutions into highly sensitive environments across Defence and National Security. They’re looking for a Senior SOC Analyst to play a key role in protecting critical systems while helping shape and evolve a growing SOC capability.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving complex security challenges, leading from the front, and working in environments where security and reliability genuinely matter.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting a small SOC Analyst team across multiple secure environments and projects
  • Monitoring systems for security incidents, suspicious activity, and potential threats
  • Investigating and responding to security alerts using SIEM and other security tooling
  • Reviewing and improving security controls across an evolving technical landscape
  • Supporting the development of RBAC and identity access management processes
  • Producing regular security and service reporting for internal stakeholders
  • Delivering security awareness training and onboarding guidance to users and visitors
  • Supporting compliance and certification activities, including ISO 27001 standards
  • Working closely with operational security teams to develop and strengthen SOC capabilities
  • Keeping up to date with emerging threats, trends, and best practice across cyber security
  • Contributing to a 24/7 SOC shift environment

Main Skills Needed

  • Previous experience within a SOC or cyber security operations environment
  • Strong understanding of SIEM platforms, security incident response, and threat management
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies, networking, and information security principles
  • Experience working with phishing, ransomware, and wider cyber threat landscapes
  • Familiarity with IDAM, RBAC models, and Joiners/Movers/Leavers processes
  • Understanding of ITSM processes, governance standards, and information classification
  • Ability to lead, mentor, or support junior analysts within a collaborative team
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with a proactive and inquisitive mindset
