Senior Manager – Finance and Planning Business Partnering

The People & CNO Business Partner Team in the NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is now recruiting for Senior Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of work to support the NHS.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with government to agree NHS funding
  • Ensure the NHS lives within its annual budget
  • Decide how to distribute the funding to the different NHS services and parts of England
  • Support innovative programmes that improve the care and experience of NHS patients or people using NHS services
  • Set out the financial and performance priorities the NHS should be delivering each year
  • Explore how the NHS can make the best use of its money
  • Look at how spend on building or equipment can improve the care and experience of people using NHS services
  • Consider how nationally we use these resources to improve healthcare outcomes, reduce inequality, improve health and support the NHS
  • Supporting the education funding reform programme
  • Maintaining and reporting unit costs for education and training
  • Support the strategic policy decisions

  • The clinical and operational priorities, risks and opportunities associated with workforce and training for the NHS;
  • The operational and financial relationships between DHSC, NHS England and individual provider and commissioners in the NHS;
  • Turning proposals for clinical or operational change into detailed costings and challenging these for efficiency and value-for-money gains;
  • Financial flows, allocations, contracts and pricing and financial incentives in the NHS;
  • Working with programmes across NHSE and wider stakeholders to develop new policy – identifying financial risks, and opportunities and advising senior finance and programme colleagues on how best to enact financial process and funding to ensure value for money.

Qualifications

  • Have a CCAB Professional Accountancy Qualification / CIMA

£66,582 to £77,368 a year (exclusive of London Weighting)
