Operations Quality Manager
£62,000-£70,000 starting – depending on experience.
Depending on the candidate’s performance at interview and experience we may offer directly at £70,000 or offer a £62,000 Operations Quality Manager role where successful candidates will be placed on Level 2 initially with progression to Level 1 following successful completion of development period (approx. 12 months).

Purpose of Job
To assure Product Quality and system/ process compliance. To be the principal Quality interface with regulatory authorities and / or customers. To ensure creation, implementation and maintenance of Company Quality Policies and to organise and control the Quality organisation in support of Achieving Excellence System. To participate in the formulation and implementation of strategic, operating and budget plans.
Principal Accountabilities
- Maintaining / controlling the company Quality system including internal audit programme
- Ensure full compliance with company Quality policy, objectives and customer and regulatory requirements.
- Interfacing with the Regulatory bodies, in all aspects of Contract Quality and/ or Airworthiness as applicable.
- Creating operational plans to ensure successful implementation of Quality policy across the organisation.
- Developing and planning the integration of Quality policy, to enable provision of a cost-effective Quality Management System.
- Compiling and implementing budget allocation and expenditure within Quality.
- Reviewing all costs and statistics within Quality and co‑ordinating actions to reduce non‑conformance costs.
- Providing a customer interface and establishing Quality standards/deliverables to satisfy customers’ needs.
- The selection, appointment, training, development and assessment of Quality personnel.
- Reviewing Quality system performance in association with operational needs.
- To initiate proposals for technological advance and to develop quality techniques to ensure that the maximum benefits are realised.
- Establishing training and Quality awareness programmes for Operations, Engineering and Procurement personnel to suit Customer and Regulatory requirements.
- Supporting the natural team through deployment of Achieving Excellence System.
- Participation in assessment of new work proposals from initial bid submission to quality plan creation and 1st article manufacture.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Possess a minimum of an Engineering or Business related degree together with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in senior technical and managerial roles ideally within the Aerospace industry.
- OR Possess a minimum of an Engineering or Business related HNC together with a minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience in senior technical and managerial roles ideally within the Aerospace industry.
- AND Experience and knowledge of direct external customer interface and management.
- Candidates should also have an understanding and awareness of the Quality systems in at least 3 of the following areas:
- Composites
- Metallic Fabrication
- Assembly
- Regulatory Approvals
- Tooling
- Laboratory and Calibration
- Quality Auditing
