Software Engineer

Working Arrangements: 4 Days on site – Friday WFH (unless required on site)

Hourly Rate: £40 PAYE or £53.90 Umbrella

BAE Systems Rochester are looking for a Software Engineer to join their Test Systems team, supporting the development of application software used to test and simulate advanced avionic systems.

You’ll be working across the full software lifecycle, developing and supporting test equipment used for systems such as flight controls, mission computers, and head-up displays.

Key Skills

• Understanding of systems and hardware integration
• Experience with languages such as C++, C#, Python, LabVIEW or TestStand (desirable)
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Able to manage your own workload proactively

Security

Candidates must be eligible for BPSS clearance, with potential for higher UK security vetting (typically requiring 5–10 years UK residency).
