This Role

In this senior role, you will lead high‑impact digital and service improvement initiatives for two key programmes of study within the School, providing strategic direction, robust governance and constructive challenge. You will work closely with academic colleagues, NHS partners, Professional Services teams and IT Services, influencing decision‑making and ensuring that our digital services are reliable, compliant and future‑focused.

Alongside this strategic leadership, you will provide oversight of the day‑to‑day delivery of the current 1Med applications. You will guide a small team of technical and administrative colleagues to ensure BAU services run smoothly, ongoing enhancements are delivered effectively, and risks, issues and dependencies are well‑managed.

This is a unique and varied position where no two days are the same — balancing strategic digital transformation with operational oversight of critical Teaching & Learning systems.

Essential Skills

  • Have a proven track record of delivering complex digital or IT‑enabled projects in a large organisation, ideally in Higher Education
  • Be highly skilled at building relationships, influencing senior decision‑makers and navigating complex governance structures
  • Bring strong experience in user‑centred design, requirements gathering and cross‑functional service improvement
  • Translate confidently between technical specialists and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Have excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Enjoy leading, motivating and supporting teams through periods of change
  • Be comfortable working independently, managing ambiguity and prioritising effectively
