Job Overview
We are inviting applications for an experienced and motivated Mortuary Manager to join the team at the new NHS Grampian Integrated Mortuary (opened November 2025). This role will provide mortuary facilities for Aberdeen city, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Northern Isles, Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service and Police Scotland in a purpose‑built facility offering bespoke mortuary services.
Responsibilities
- Lead the operations of the Mortuary services.
- Ensure the highest standards of care, dignity and professionalism for the deceased and their families.
- Manage a skilled team and foster a compassionate, highly organised working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree level in a relevant science subject.
- Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology Level 4.
- Demonstrable knowledge gained through training and experience.
Working Conditions
- Starting 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata. A corresponding increase in hourly rate ensures pay is not affected.
- If this post operates within the Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone, the incumbent will be responsible for all associated entry costs.
