Overview
Qualified ACA or ACCA Senior Accountant – Northampton, Salary £45K – £50K. This role combines office work with on‑site client visits, leads junior staff and delivers general audit and accounts services in a modern, progressive firm that offers variety and flexible working.
Responsibilities
- Act as audit senior on statutory, SAR and grant audits, overseeing junior staff during fieldwork.
- Prepare and produce accounts from clients’ prime records and accounting software, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 1A.
- Create draft accounts and tax computations for manager review.
- Provide management information such as cash‑flow forecasting.
- Review preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
- Assist with client training on bookkeeping and accounting software (ideally IRIS, Xero).
- Support managers in running portfolios and participating in business‑development projects.
- Develop and mentor junior team members.
Candidate Attributes
- Qualified ACA or ACCA.
- Experience dealing with client queries and liaising on accounting matters.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (IRIS, Xero).
- Excellent written and verbal communication and report‑writing skills.
- Enthusiastic, supportive, and reliable team player.
- Loyal and self‑motivated.
