Audit and Accounts Senior

Overview

Qualified ACA or ACCA Senior Accountant – Northampton, Salary £45K – £50K. This role combines office work with on‑site client visits, leads junior staff and delivers general audit and accounts services in a modern, progressive firm that offers variety and flexible working.

Responsibilities

• Act as audit senior on statutory, SAR and grant audits, overseeing junior staff during fieldwork.
• Prepare and produce accounts from clients’ prime records and accounting software, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 1A.
• Create draft accounts and tax computations for manager review.
• Provide management information such as cash‑flow forecasting.
• Review preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.
• Assist with client training on bookkeeping and accounting software (ideally IRIS, Xero).
• Support managers in running portfolios and participating in business‑development projects.
• Develop and mentor junior team members.

Candidate Attributes

• Qualified ACA or ACCA.
• Experience dealing with client queries and liaising on accounting matters.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (IRIS, Xero).
• Excellent written and verbal communication and report‑writing skills.
• Enthusiastic, supportive, and reliable team player.
• Loyal and self‑motivated.
