About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to start a career in audiology through a structured apprenticeship programme. The role combines hands‑on clinical experience with formal study, leading to a recognised Hearing Aid Dispenser (Level 5) qualification. Working alongside experienced Audiologists, the Apprentice Trainee Audiologist will develop practical skills in patient care while building strong clinical and academic knowledge. On successful completion of the apprenticeship, the individual will be fully qualified to practise as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, with the foundation to progress further within the audiology profession. With the right support and supervision, confidence and capability will grow over time, alongside increasing responsibility across both NHS and private settings.
What the Role Involves
- Supporting hearing assessments and hearing aid fittings under supervision
- Gathering patient information and contributing to clinical decision‑making
- Providing follow‑up support to hearing aid users
- Taking part in both NHS and private consultations
- Attending university training and completing coursework alongside the role
Training and Development
- Fully funded Hearing Aid Dispenser (HAD) apprenticeship
- A supportive mix of workplace learning and academic study
- Ongoing guidance from experienced clinicians and mentors
- A clear and achievable pathway to qualification and career progression
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3 GCSEs (grade C/4 or above), including English and Maths
- Around 32 UCAS tariff points (ideally in science or health‑related subjects)
- Strong communication skills and a calm, friendly approach
- A genuine interest in healthcare and supporting patients
- Willingness to balance study with hands‑on training
- Experience working with people or in customer‑facing roles (helpful, not essential)
- Basic IT skills and confidence using systems
- A full UK driving licence
