• Education: City & Guilds 2377 or equivalent
• Experience: Proven competence with City & Guilds standard
• Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, commutable areas
• Commute: Reasonable distance to Hammersmith & Fulham (national work possible)
• Salary: Discussed per job (pro‑rate basis)

Responsibilities

As a PAT engineer you will travel to a range of sites – hospitals, retail outlets, offices – carrying your own calibrated testing equipment and insurance. You will:

• Carry out portable appliance tests using suitable instruments.
• Inspect and test appliances such as microwaves, kettles and computers to ensure safety.
• Record findings in a dedicated test report book or electronic system.
• Provide completion certificates and checklists to clients.
• Explain results and recommend repairs or replacements to users.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all work complies with relevant regulations.

Requirements

To be successful you must:

• Hold a City & Guilds 2377 PAT qualification or equivalent.
• Have your own insurance and maintain calibrated testing instruments.
• Be reliable, honest and possess a ‘can‑do’ attitude.
• Have reliable transport for commuting to jobs.
• Maintain organisational skills and work efficiently across multiple sites.
