EC&I Engineer

We’re looking for a talented and motivated EC&I Engineer to join our growing team at MARCH. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects across regulated and process-driven industries, contributing to innovative engineering solutions while developing your technical expertise.
You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical and control system designs, supporting projects from concept through to commissioning in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality electrical and control designs, maintaining consistency and best practice standards throughout
- Review client documentation (P&IDs, URS, I/O lists, instrument schedules) to define system requirements
- Conduct site surveys to assess and develop integration solutions
- Specify and support the design of control panels, liaising closely with workshop teams
- Work across a range of technologies, including PLCs, HMIs, and drives (both modern and legacy systems)
- Produce detailed technical documentation (I/O schedules, hardware specs, cable and termination schedules)
- Specify and cost electrical equipment and hardware
- Review and approve electrical schematics to ensure compliance and functionality
- Support FAT/PDI testing and validation against client requirements
- Supervise site activities and coordinate subcontractors
- Test and commission systems safely within live operational environments
- Ensure compliance with company processes and the Integrated Management System
Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:
- HNC (or higher) in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in controls and automation
- Experience across industries such as Food & Beverage, Pharma, Water, Chemical, or Process
- Variable Speed Drives (specification, configuration, commissioning)
- Motor starters (DOL, Star/Delta, Soft Start)
- BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations
- BS EN 60204-1 Machinery Safety Standards
- Functional Safety (ISO EN13849-1 / IEC 62061) – desirable
- SSSTS – desirable
- Strong technical problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
