About The Role

We’re looking for a Quality Control Engineer to join our team supporting major projects in Cumbria, with a key focus on our framework in Barrow‑in‑Furness. This is a permanent role.

What You’ll Be Doing

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all project activities meet contractual, regulatory, and company quality standards
  • Develop and maintain inspection, test, and quality plans aligned to customer requirements
  • Oversee document control, configuration management, and technical submissions
  • Manage non‑conformances, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives

Project Assurance

  • Deliver progressive assurance across the full project lifecycle
  • Ensure inspections, testing, and handover documentation are completed and compliant
  • Provide clear reporting on quality performance, risks, and trends

Stakeholder & Team Engagement

  • Act as a key member of the project team, providing expert quality guidance
  • Build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and supply chain partners
  • Promote a proactive quality culture across all teams and contractors

Risk & Improvement

  • Identify and mitigate quality‑related risks
  • Capture and share lessons learned across projects and the wider business
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice adoption

Supply Chain Quality

  • Monitor and report on supply chain quality performance
  • Support suppliers in delivering against quality expectations and plans

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management best practice
  • Experience in quality assurance within engineering, construction, or major projects
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills—confident engaging at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality systems
