Repair Centre Engineer – Mechanical Bias
Role:
Are you a hands-on engineer with a knack for fixing things that move? If you’ve spent your career working with mechanical systems and love the satisfaction of diagnosing and solving a problem from first principles, this could be the role for you.
You’ll be joining an established repair centre team where your mechanical expertise will genuinely set you apart. This isn’t a role where you’ll blend into the background – your skillset is exactly what this team is missing, and you’ll have real impact from day one.
Here’s what’s in it for you:
- A clear progression path into senior engineer, team leader, or field service engineer roles – your development is taken seriously here
- Certified training on the job – PAT testing and soldering certifications are on offer, so you’ll be adding to your CV as you go
- A compressed working week option giving you every other Friday off – because work-life balance matters
Responsibilities:
- Carrying out hands‑on repair and maintenance work across a range of units
- Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting mechanical issues methodically
- Working collaboratively within a repair centre team to ensure full unit coverage
- Applying logical thinking to written and practical problem‑solving tasks
- Contributing to a high standard of repair quality and turnaround
Skills/Must Have:
- Proven mechanical engineering background – ATM repair, vending machine servicing, engine work, bicycle mechanics or similar
- Strong hand‑tool skills and confidence working with moving parts
- Logical approach to fault finding and problem solving
- Compressed working week – every other Friday off
- On‑the‑job training and unit‑specific certifications
- PAT testing and soldering certifications available
- Genuine internal progression routes
- Stable, permanent role within an established team
