Lead Structural Engineer

Location: Watford – hybrid (work at home 1 day per week)

This is a senior technical role focused on leading complex structural engineering, testing and assurance projects that support safer, more sustainable and higher‑performing buildings across the UK and internationally.

Key Requirements

• Chartered Structural Engineer status
• Strong knowledge of BS and EN codes and standards
• Experience leading complex structural engineering and testing programmes
• Strong understanding of static and dynamic structural behaviour
• Experience managing engineers, technicians and laboratory teams
• Ability to produce and review technical reports and proposals
• Knowledge of UK construction methods, materials and building systems
• Experience in structural inspection, assessment and fire performance
• Exposure to AutoCAD and FEA modelling
• Strong client‑facing and commercial skills

Role & Responsibilities

• Leading structural engineering activities and technical services
• Overseeing structural testing and assurance projects
• Developing and interpreting structural test regimes
• Managing laboratory‑based testing activities
• Coordinating multidisciplinary technical teams
• Producing technical proposals, reports and client deliverables
• Supporting client engagement, business development and industry representation
