Adult Social Care Lawyer

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in the North-West of England, who are recruiting for a Senior Solicitor for their Adult Social Care team on an initial three-month locum contract, with potential for extension.

The position is due to start as soon as possible, and is offering circa £65 p/hour via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing complex Adult Social Care matters within Local Government.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Managing a mixed caseload of Adult Social Care and local government matters, providing high-quality legal advice and support
• Conducting advocacy and representation across Courts and Tribunals, including case preparation and management
• Providing expert legal advice to Council officers, committees and service departments on local government law and governance matters
• Drafting, reviewing and settling legal documentation, ensuring compliance with statutory and constitutional requirements
• Supporting the Council in maintaining effective governance and constitutional compliance across Adult Social Care functions
• Contributing to service improvement through training, process development and delivery of a responsive, cost-effective legal service

Experience required:

• Experience required in Local Government
• Experience managing staff
• Experience managing complex Adult Social Care legal matters

• 37 hours per week
• Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
