Neonatal Quality Assurance Nurse

We are seeking a registered nurse or midwife with experience in neonatal care and governance/patient safety. The role requires the post holder to work autonomously across both Prince Charles and Princess of Wales Hospital sites. If you are ready for a new challenge, we would welcome hearing from you.

Main duties of the job

  • Promote and monitor safe and effective care within Neonatal Services in line with the Welsh Government’s National Clinical Framework: A Learning Healthcare System and NHS Shared Service Partnership Legal and Risk service.
  • Work with the Clinical Risk and Governance Midwife, Senior Nurse for Neonatal and Consultant Paediatrician for Clinical Risk to promote and facilitate opportunities to learn, support development and implementation of improvements to enhance patient safety and outcomes.
  • Act as a professional role model ensuring others are enablers to support risk assessment to enhance patient safety outcomes.
  • Provide direct and indirect care while developing others through training and education.

This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. While the candidate does not need fluency, speaking and listening skills at Level 3 (CEFR B2) or above will be considered an advantage during short-listing and selection.

Qualifications / Knowledge

  • Registered Nurse
  • Master’s Degree in health‑related subject or equivalent
  • Demonstrable evidence of a good understanding of governance, including risks, incidents and complaints

Experience

  • Significant experience working in neonatal settings
  • Experience delivering a high standard of evidence‑based individual client care

Skills

  • Effective communication with good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence with digital working
  • Welsh language speaking/listening skills at Level 3 or above
