To support the Service Delivery and Service Manager in their roles. Working on the varied service improvement projects for the different sub‑specialities of Respiratory including; Sleep Medicine; TB, ILD and the Lung Cancer Screening Programme. The role is high paced in a very friendly and supportive team.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide administration support to the Respiratory department mainly dealing with day‑to‑day issues regarding patient appointments, project administration and RTT database activity.
To deal with enquiries from members of the public or staff and take appropriate action. This will include supporting the SDM with administration and database tasks to ensure projects such as the Lung Cancer Screening Programme, Lung Nodule Pathway and broad RTT queries to support breach avoidance.
The post holder will also identify and undertake changes as required to deliver the service, demonstrating problem solving ability and initiative.
To monitor and manage the departmental databases, ensuring that data quality and the production of required data.
To provide support to Respiratory consultant with managing their waiting lists and work.

Qualifications
- Good standard of general education to GCSE grade C or equivalent including Maths and English
- NVQ level 3 in business administration or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
- Ability to undertake additional training on departmental IT and manual systems
- ECDL or alternative recognised IT qualification
Experience
- Previous clerical work in a confidential environment
- Previous experience of organising and prioritising own workload
- Experience of using windows IT applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Previous experience of working in the NHS or similar environment
- Experience of creating and maintaining electronic diaries / organising clinic
- Previous experience of using SystmOne, Esearcher, PAS and Oasis
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
- Good communication / interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with the public both in person and on the telephone
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Good keyboard and IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
- Ability to work under pressure and cope with stressful situations and time constraints
- Knowledge of NHS procedures in particular those relating to primary care
- Medical terminology

- Ability to travel independently to other sites in timely manner as required such as mandatory training and shared working
